Newsletter #018 – Getting Started with Content Creation
Starting an online business can be complicated for many would-be entrepreneurs, requiring lots of setups and getting your head around different online business models.
Content creation is one of my favoured online business models. It covers a variety of ways to generate income online including –
- Advertising
- Affiliate Marketing
- Books
- Course Creation
- Membership Sites
There are many other forms of content creation such a videos. Whatever type of online business created there will always be content creation required.
Starting Over and Over
This week, I started working with a new group of clients for a program called Zero to Millionaire, Building the Foundation. Lessons 1 & 2, focus on starting a side hustle, online business. Generating income and then using the income to invest in property, shares and bullion.
My normal practice with any new group is, that I also start a new online business and show clients how to get started and my process for getting the website to make some money. This group was no different, so I set about making this newsletter – Online Entrepreneur – into an online business.
Not a Get Rich Quick Solution
If you are looking for some quick results, this type of online business will take time to get established.
Normally, around 6-8 months for the first payments to start coming in.
However, the business model then keeps growing and growing to where you are making £5,000 or £10,000 or more per month. It just takes time and persistence to make it work.
The website, I’m building, growing and monetizing is called https://theonlineentrepreneur.co.uk The first steps that were taken this week were
1. Get a url. This is the unique address for the website. My first option was onlineentrepreneur.com however, when I tried to buy it, the cost was £26,500 just for the url. So, I looked at other suggestions autogenerated in the search and eventually went with https://theonlineentrepreneur.co.uk this url cost £11.99 for one year.
2. The next step was to start creating a website. My websites are hosted on Wealthy Affiliate so it was a simple process of changing the url nameserver to wealthy affiliate and choosing a website design to get started.
Over the coming weeks, I will take you through the process of customizing the website and creating content.
This Week’s Action Step
In our very first newsletter, we talked about Niche and identifying which niche you have knowledge in. The exercise for this week is to take that idea and find a url and connect to website hosting.
