YouTube has revolutionized the way we consume and share content. With its vast library of videos spanning every conceivable topic, YouTube has become a powerful educational resource, entertainment platform, and a medium for creative expression.

Largest Search Engine Outside Google
Search Engines are an important part of driving traffic to a website. There are many different ways to generate traffic as mentioned in previous newsletters but few people realize, that YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine. As of today, it deals with about 14.6 billion searches a day.
Google is the largest search engine. When you consider that Google owns YouTube it is a huge amount of daily searches through both platforms.
There are some strategies that can be used around YouTube to help grow traffic to your website and increase rankings on Google and other search engines.
The “How to” Platform
YouTube is the “how to” social media platform. It consists of videos and short reels that provide the viewer with how to do something relating to your product or service. It is also the platform where people want to know how things work.
Most people worry about giving away too much information for free but this is where YouTube is a great channel.
You can create informational videos that cover some of the information but viewers need to buy your course, product or service to get more detailed information.
In addition, as the channel grows and more people subscribe to the channel then YouTube will pay for videos viewed.
SEO Backlinks
YouTube is a great way of creating backlinks to blogs to boost the ranking of your blog on search engines.
The backlinks are created by putting a link to your blog in the description text below your video.
In your blog, make the point that there is more detailed information in the YouTube video driving traffic through both sites.
This way one site is helping the other to grow. This is very beneficial for your business.
Backlinks are likes on SEO search engines so, having a blog and YouTube Channel work well together. The links can help your social media platforms as well. Facebook likes videos, and Instagram likes reels. So, they all go hand in hand.
Tools For Creating Videos
When creating videos or reels (short videos) you don’t need anything fancy to get started. Simply record something on a mobile phone and upload it to your channel.
If you want to be a little more creative, I use Zoom to record my videos and then edit them using Movavi Software. You can buy a lifetime license for simple editing around €50.
The most important thing about YouTube is this is where you tell people how to do something. That is the information they want and the reason they use YouTube.
Don’t worry about giving away information, as with YouTube the bigger the following the more you get paid for each video viewed.
