Newsletter #035 – How YouTube Can Help Grow Your Website Traffic
Do you have a YouTube Channel?
Content creation is the lifeblood of online entrepreneurs. In today’s world content can be blogs, videos, podcasts and more.
The more elements included in your content the more opportunities you have to drive traffic to your website and help generate those sales everyone is desperate to make.
For many getting in front of the camera is difficult and often avoided. Yet, YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine and should be utilized as much as possible.
YouTube is also flexible. You can create long or short videos. Add them to your social media posts or websites as well as creating backlinks to build traffic to your website.
In a recent exercise, I created automated links to my social media platforms and a few websites, that is added to each video created.
Google is the owner of YouTube so video content is included in search engines and this helps with generating powerful links to your content.
Tips to Help You Get Your Video Started.
- For every blog written take a H2 or H3 heading and create a small video about that topic. You should be able to create 3 or 4 videos. Each video should have a link back to your website.
- When you share your videos on social media it could create potential growth for traffic to your website.
- Remember to download the video from YouTube and upload it to Facebook as there is an unwritten rule that Facebook doesn’t like videos taking traffic away from their platform to another. When the video is uploaded to Facebook it is part of the post created and not a shared link.
- Your video doesn’t need to be perfect it just needs to be started.
- If you are really averse to being in front of a camera, switch the camera off. Record images or slides and add audio.
- Don’t forget to include hashtags in the description below the video. It helps YouTube decide the audience to show your video content to.
Other Ways to Improve Your Website with YouTube
Have a free giveaway or a course that can be advertised in the description box. Incentives do help people click through to websites from the video.
So, if you have been putting off starting a YouTube video or haven’t posted much to your YouTube channel, then now is the time to get started.
Make 2024 the year your YouTube channel grows and the year your website hits new highs.
