Cultivating Your Online Presence: Platforms and Strategies

With Billionaire John Boyle Dublin 2020

Your online presence is a pivotal component of personal branding: It isn’t just about being visible; it’s about making strategic moves to ensure your brand message hits home with your intended audience.

For instance, I teach clients how to build online businesses and invest their profits into property, shares, cryptocurrency and commodities. They invest either as individuals or through joint ventures which I create. I’m an online entrepreneur, strategic investor and joint venture expert. All of which can be combined into the umbrella title of wealth coach.

So, as a wealth coach, people expect to see some of the trappings of wealth. My posts on social media fall into two categories.

  1. The sales side for selling courses
  2. The lifestyle side which shows I walk the talk.

My social media platforms are not for complaining about anything or everything. My social media is for showcasing my lifestyle and how I achieve it. It is growing my personal brand.

Social Media

Social Media marketing is a quick way to get in front of your perfect client. But it is also about choosing the right social media platforms for your brand.

Each Social Media platform has a different nuance for it’s audience.

  • Facebook is about showing what you do works.
  • Instagram provides more insight into what you are selling
  • Twitter/X is breaking news. Making announcements.
  • LinkedIn is building connections/networking
  • YouTube is for showing how to do things

Just like a product, your personal brand information should be tweaked to suit each platform.

Consistency

Creating consistent content is critical.

This isn’t just about blasting frequent updates but crafting messages that reinforce your brand ideals.

Successful YouTubers have set days that their content is released. Some might do two days a week such as Tuesday and Thursday. Others are more consistent in posting every day.

Choose something that resonates with you and your audience. Also, choose one platform to get started. Build that, and then move into the next one, whether that’s blog posts, podcasts, videos, or infographics.

The Online Entrepreneur started life as a newsletter subscription before moving to website content. The newsletter is released every Saturday morning and scheduled for release to the website about 6 weeks later.

Blogs are created for the website once a week.

This way visitors to the site can see regular content being uploaded and can subscribe to the newsletter to get the latest issue.

Don’t spread yourself too quickly as you won’t keep up with the schedule and your personal brand will suffer if you are not sticking to what your audience expect.

Engagement

Engaging with your online community goes beyond posting regular content.

It involves interacting with your followers, responding to comments, and participating in discussions.

Trying to keep reply to all messages can be time consuming. This is why I prefer Facebook Groups and Membership Sites

Facebook Groups keeps me in contact with potential customers.

Membership Sites keep me in contact with clients.

A lot is happening very quickly in the digital space, and being active keeps you relevant.

Analytics

You can’t just toss content out into the void and hope for the best. You have to measure the impact of your online branding efforts. This is where analytics come into play.

Look at engagement rates, follower growth, and conversions to refine what you do and when you release content to get the best results.

Keep tweaking until you get the perfect balance. Then just keep repeating for growth.

Networking Effectively: Building Relationships That Boost Your Brand

Sharing the Stage with Sharon and Michael Lechter, Dublin 2023

You’re going to find that a strong personal brand isn’t built in isolation. It’s about the connections you make and the relationships you nurture.

Successful personal branding is, in large part, about being seen as a valuable member of your chosen industry.

Networking is a great way to let people get to know, like and trust you. Key components for marketing and ultimately making sales.

I recently attended an online networking event. One of the speakers when he noticed me started raving about how he loved what I did and followed my every move. His presentation was thrown aside and he asked the host if he could interview me instead.

This was a network I had never attended before but what do you think that interaction did to my personal brand?

As a result of that one network meeting, I signed up several customers without a sales pitch – it was done for me through the raving fan. I was also asked to go onto 2 podcasts.

Networking should never feel like a chore. Choose events and platforms that resonate with you, and where you genuinely enjoy interacting with others. Your enthusiasm for your work and your brand will shine through naturally when you’re having a good time.

Now let’s talk strategy.

Online networking can be as simple as engaging in LinkedIn groups or Twitter chats related to your field.

Share your thoughts, ask questions, and contribute valuable insights. Don’t worry too much about immediate gains; focus on being helpful and building credibility over time.

Offline, attending industry conferences, workshops, or local meetups can allow you to connect with people face-to-face. These interactions can lead to new opportunities and collaborations that elevate your brand to new heights.

Mentorship Can Elevate Your Personal Brand

A mentor can be a game-changer for your personal brand. Not only do they provide guidance and advice from a place of experience, but they can also introduce you to their network, opening doors you might not have been able to on your own.

I have worked with some great mentors in my online career. They have connected me with people who I didn’t know existed but were able to move my brand and my businesses to another level.

Joint Ventures are an important part of my brand. They wouldn’t happen without the support of mentors who introduced me to the right people for the joint ventures being created.

Evolving Your Brand: Adaptation and Growth in a Dynamic World

With Teddy Hayes & Skyler Jett in Dublin 2020

As the world changes, so must your personal brand. Staying relevant isn’t just a goal, it’s a necessity. This means a commitment to continuous learning and skill development. If you want to maintain a competitive edge, you need to be on the lookout for emerging trends and be ready to pivot your strategy as needed.

A personal brand also enables you to pivot to new opportunities without being seen as someone who chops and changes all the time.

As I mentioned earlier, I help people create online businesses and invest their profits. This enables me to build business opportunities in business, property, shares, cryptocurrency and commodities. Several different industries under one umbrella. Yet, each one is a part of my personal brand.

Innovation is the lifeblood of brand evolution. Choose strategies that resonate with your long-term vision, yet stay agile. You’re going to find out about new tools and platforms that can propel your brand forward—embrace them. A dynamic brand is a lasting one.

I’ve watched brands rise to greatness because they adapted well. For instance, think about the business leaders who transitioned online swiftly during global shifts—those who invested time in webinars, digital products, or enhanced their services. They not only weathered the storm; they flourished.

In the end, the process of evolving your brand is about staying true to who you are while also being unafraid to grow and change. Your first attempt at building a personal brand doesn’t need to be your last. Just don’t focus too much on perfection; focus on progression, and the rest will follow.
