Newsletter #012 – Getting Started for Free
Getting an Online Business started can be daunting especially when looking at the cost.
A friend of mine who specializes in helping clients get started says his clients need at least $10k to get started. This is beyond many people who want to start an online business.
I specialize in starting with little or no money. That’s what I’ll be covering in today’s newsletter.
Free Website
Wealthy Affiliate is the platform I use for hosting my websites. It offers different levels of membership depending on how many websites are needed.
The good news is they have a free version.
The training provided is fantastic for setting up a website and starting to blog. Then if you decide you want to expand your online entrepreneur business or get additional training then simply upgrade to the next level.

Free Blog Sites
There are free blogging sites that work just as well as having your website. They can be customized to some degree to make the look and feel of the site more your own.
The two biggest blogging platforms are
1. WordPress
2. Blogger
Over the past few years, WordPress has become the biggest blogging platform. It is the first blogging site I used when I started writing books. Each day, I would take a topic, write about it and link a book. Every day I made a sale.
Blogger is Google’s blogging platform and one not to be overlooked. If the blog site is updated frequently with content, Google will push the site up the search engine rankings giving more exposure to the blog. They tend to support their products first.
I would suggest using both platforms to make a lot of noise on the internet about your business. Make sure each blog has a slightly different perspective. If you post the same post on each platform Google will see it as plagiarism and block the post.

5. Wealthy Affiliate has an internal blog system
6. My Mobile App
Each time I cover the same topic but put a slightly different slant on the content. I’ve noticed different audiences are drawn to different platforms. I adjust the content to each specific audience.
This is similar to how each Social Media Platform is used. (see previous newsletters)
Choosing Your Blogging Platform
With Wealthy Affiliate offering a FREE website, it makes more sense to now start directly with a website and start getting your message out to the online audience.
If you are unsure about the niche you’ll be operating in then I suggest using one of the free blogging sites such as Blogger or WordPress.
Whatever you decide to do, the aim is to get online as quick as possible and let people know you are out there ready to help solve the problems they have
