Finding the perfect niche for you is the key to building a successful online business.
But the question remains, what is your perfect niche?
In this week’s newsletter, we look at the changing trends for niches and how you can choose the one that is guaranteed to be perfect for you
Google Algorithm
As the biggest search engine with more thant 80% market share, Google plays an important part in helping us decide the niche to work in.
Google provides information about how many users are searching for information on a topic. What type of competition you have in the market. When looking at starting an online business it pays to keep and eye on Google, on the data it provides and what most people are looking for through their most frequently asked questions.
Howvers, Google has a knack for changing their algorithm frequently and it causes all sorts of problems for many niche marketers. Form having to change how they write content to ensuring the best user experience.
When deciding on your niche, take a good look at Google information and where you think your niche will fill a void in the industry.
Visitor Experience
Search engines are looking for visitor experience. That usually means that the content provided on a website will give the visitor a lot of valuable information and keep the visitor on the site for a longer time.
Google doesn’t want the visitor arriving at your website to find a sales page and nothing else.
They want visitors to get good information from the website and know they come away content that they have learned something.
This is done through creating a higher ratio of informative posts as compared to sales posts.
While Google has not said what the ratio should be, industry leaders are stating is should be around the 80/20 rule. 80% informative 20% sales.
So, with this in mind, the online entrepreneur needs a niche that they can write about a 100 posts and more to increase visitor experience along with gaining better rankings.
The Perfect Niche
So, what is a perfect niche that will allow you to write good content over and over again without running out of ideas?
The solution is you. Write about your experiences with the topic. How you learned things, what you learned. Everyone evolves with their skills and knowledge. The more you can write about how your skills have grown and how you achieved it the more content you will be able to create.
You become the niche and the brand.
For example, I write about how I build online businesses and invest the profits back into property, digital assets and commodities.
My niche is starting from zero. No money and building wealth to become a millionaire.
The problem is there are other people who have a rags to riches story and probably spend huge amounts on advertising.
What makes my niche different, is I write, record videos and create courses based on my personal experience. What I did and how I did it.
That makes my niche totally unique to me.
No one else has the same experience as me in building wealth. So, part of my niche is telling stories about my experiences, how I over came the difficulties and what I do today. The experience and the stories are unique to me.

Write Down What You Learn Each Day.
Each day I learn something new and I have a new experience. Something different occurs everyday. While my routine may be the same there is always something different. For instance, today Facebook went down. I couldn’t post on FB so I took a look at a different social media platform and how I could use that instead.
That is a new experience for me. Something new that I learned about another website and another topic I can write about.
By writing them and including them in posts about my niche my content becomes totally unique to me.
This is what Google is looking for.
Authenticity.
It doesn’t matter what the niche is, it is about sharing your stories, your learnings and your pitfalls. This in turn makes the articles on your website informative to the visitor and totally unique.
It also helps to build your expertise, authority and trustworthiness. (EAT) Everything Google is looking for to enhance the website visitor experience.
Keep A Daily Log
As an eleven-year-old child, my father gave me a diary and suggested I write down everything I could at the end of each day in the journal.
This I did and have continued to do every day.
As a result, when I am looking for something to write, I just go back to my journals and look at what experiences I had or lessons learned.
This way there is always something to write about and it’s always unique to you.
